Home Flash Tatami Tomography TomOku

Tatami Tomography Tomoku

This underwent a major revision, beginning Friday at 11 and ending Saturday at 5 :D (plus I had to put a couple of fires out the next morning).

I often get ahead of myself and I'm going to do it here.  With no introduction to tatami tilings nor to tomography and not to mention, their intersection, I present this flash application.

I appreciate your comments and bug reports (post them here if you like).  Apologies for the jumbled user interface, I'll update that stuff if and when I realize that someone other than me and a couple of friends want to play with it ;).

Try the following:  Press "Random Tiling" and then press "Tomography".  Read the instructions that appear at the bottom right and see how fast you can place all the mats onto the grid.  Note that 1x1 mats appear twice (you'll see why when you place one).

Without further ado:

Get Adobe Flash player

i found a bug in the game logic. will fix later. not sure how to reproduce it yet, but tiles that should snap don't sometimes. and sometimes you have to flail-click to pick a tile up.

You need to press either "random tiling" or "load tiling" or select from the session drop down menu to get a new game. Otherwise it will go to the last one you played.

Ready to go with the 621st 4x8 tiling
I was doing this one and on row 3, I could not put a tile where I wanted. When I reset it and did again I didn't have that problem.
